MathPlayer is a program by Design Science that enables the display of MathML mathematical formulae in Internet Explorer. MathML is a recommendation of the W3C for displaying formulae on the World Wide Web. While newer versions of the Mozilla browser and its derivatives (e.g., Mozilla Firefox) have native support for displaying MathML, Internet Explorer needs a plug-in like MathPlayer.
In addition to displaying MathML, MathPlayer makes math and science web content accessible to those with disabilities. MathPlayer allows MathML content to be spoken aloud by a screen reader or magnified.
MathPlayer has a license that may limit its use or distribution in commercial webpages and software. Using or distributing the MathPlayer plugin to display HTML content via the WebBrowser control in commercial software may also be forbidden by this license.
