From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Math, Science, and Technology Preparatory School at Seneca is the first preparatory school in Western New York and the third in New York State. The school is opening in September of 2006 and will have 160 students- 80 6th graders and 80 9th graders. The school is going to add a grade each year until it has a full 6th to 12th grade school. The school was a dream of Public School Superintendent Dr. James A. Williams. The principal is Pamela D. Rutland and all of the teachers are NYS appoved and are called the "The Dream Team". All of the students were hand picked then out of those who applied were computer drawn. By 12th grade all of the students will have passed at least 2 AP classes and everyone is getting a scholarship. Also each student is getting a free laptop-tablet to keep during their time in the school even through the summer. Dr. Williams has said "no one will fail" and also "no one will get suspended from this school". They hope that this school will help other school shape up and graduate more students so they can be privileged citizens.
