[edit] Early life

He moved to the United States and attended Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida for recording/audio engineering, which is where he met fellow Madina Lake bandmate Dan Torelli.

[edit] Career

Mateo was previously in a band called Reforma with Dan Torelli that relocated to Chicago. The two of them met Nathan and Matthew Leone from The Blank Theory, and quickly befriended them.
