Mata Tripta, is the mother of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev. Mata Tripta gave birth to Guru Nanak Dev on April 15, 1469 in the village of Rai Bhoi Di Talwandi, some forty miles west of Lahore in the Shekhupura district of Punjab (Pakistan). The name of the town was changed to Nankana Sahib in honour of the Guru. Guru Nanak Dev's father was Mehta Kalu. He had a sibling who was elder to him and her name was Bibi Nanki.
