Mat Osman

Mat Osman (born Mathew David Osman, 9 October 1967, Welwyn Garden City) is an English musician. He was formerly the bassist in the band, Suede. He studied at the London School of Economics, where in 1989 he was awarded a BSc in Economics.

Osman was a school friend of Suede lead singer, Brett Anderson, and was in early garage bands with Brett such as The Pigs and Suave And Elegant. Suede went on to be one of the most successful bands of the 1990s, and brought British guitar music back to the mainstream. Since Suede's break up in 2003, Osman has provided music for television programs, such as 8 out of 10 Cats, and is currently in the band Mista Brown.

Osman is the London editor of the email magazine le cool and the editor of their forthcoming London guidebook.[1]
