Matías Nicolas Pavoni (born September 25, 1980 Buenos Aires) is an Argentine footballer currently playing for Asteras Tripolis in Greece.
Pavoni began his career playing for Primera Division side Newell's Old Boys in Rosario in 1999, but in 2001 he was sold to Central Córdoba who were playing in the Argentine second division.
In 2002 he was spotted by lower league Spanish side Cádiz and made the move to Europe. Cadiz made remarkable progress through the Spanish league system until they found themselves in the top flight for the 2005/06 season. Despite some hard fought victories and impressive displays from Pavoni and Argentine goalkeeper Limia, the club were relegated at the end of the season.
