Matías Jesús Almeyda (born 21 December 1973) is an Argentine football player.

Almeyda has played for several clubs, including River Plate, SS Lazio, AC Parma and Inter Milan, the last three all in Italy. He has also played for the Argentine national football team and was a participant at the 1996 Olympic Games, and the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups.

Due to his copious and thick hair, he's ironically nicknamed El Pelado ("The Baldy").

He scored a spectacular 35 metre volley in a Serie A match whilst playing for Lazio.

After one and a half years away from football, in which he represented Argentina in a Showball tour around the world alongside Diego Maradona and participated in the Indoor Football World Cup in Spain, Almeyda decided to get back into the game. On 26 March 2007 he signed for the Norwegian Premiership club F.C. Lyn Oslo, and made his debut on 13 May, coming on as a substitute. Almeyda played regularly on the reserve team and in the Norwegian Cup, but was only fielded in one more league game, again as a substitute. On 26 May 2007, Almeyda reached a mutual agreement with Lyn and the contract was terminated.
