Matthew Fontaine Maury, founder of the United States Naval Observatory
[edit] Source
Source incorrectly shows as "Matthew W. F. Maury" whereas it should be Commander "Matthew Fontaine Maury"
[1] . The bust of Commander Matthew Fontaine Maury in that same area is also listed incorrectly as "Matthew W. F. Maury".
[2] . The photo in that area of Captain James Maury Werth is interesting as he is one of "The Pathfinder's" great-grandsons who also was a superintendent of the United States Naval Observatory and who once sailed the "seven seas". He is very much a gentleman and filled with energy and aspirations.
