Description

Australian War Memorial (AWM) catalog number 301002. The Burns Philp cargo and passenger vessel Matafele in 1938. She was commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy in 1942 as HMAS Matafele and was lost with her entire crew due to an accident in June 1944.
