Vandal's Paradise: Why Wikipedia should not ban vandals
The first thing i have to say is this: Digital Vandalism does not hurt anyone. If a user has reason to believe an article has been vandalised, then, with a few clicks, they can revert to a past edit with little effort. Vandalism is fun. The mere idea of Wikipedia having blue-eyed boys enforcing their censorship trips is ridiculous. However, vandals give these sycophantic tapeworms reason to log into Wikipedia every day. Without the vandals, what need would there be for users such as StarSpot123 et al. These people contribute no material of their own, so what right does such a person have to tell someone else what they can and cant write?
As for blocking vandals, this is exactly the kind of Mary Whitehouse censorship that outraged and alienated and demoralised the artists of the 1970s and 1980s. The internet is the only remaining safe-haven for free expression and now "organisations" such as Wikipedia are trying to censor the minority.
