[edit] Patent

developed using a patented M&H cross-stringing technique. What patent? I'm familiar with ones they used in pianos by J. P. Richardson and R. W. Gertz, but don't remember one for cross-stringing. Mireut 15:16, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Forefront

I've removed this sentence 'Mason & Hamlin was at the forefront, and the great virtuosos performed regularly on Mason & Hamlin pianos.' from the article, it's lifted more or less verbatim from the company's website. If you feel inclined to put it back up, please find a more objective source. Alexrexpvt 17:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Good catch. To an extent, the statement is true, but M & H was primarily an American used brand, their heyday was the 19th Century, and how many virtuosos were in America prior to 1900? The piano culture, for lack of a better term, was in Europe at the time. In the insterest of full disclosure, I worked for M & H from 1990-94.THD3 21:04, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
