Masterclass Media Foundation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Masterclasses are considered one of the most effective teaching tools for aspiring classical musicians. The Masterclass Media Foundation seeks to make the benefits of masterclasses more widely available, by creating a unique archive of the world’s greatest musicians and music teachers filmed giving masterclasses. The Foundation intends that this archive, which will be made available to music colleges and students throughout the world, will ultimately be deposited with a leading academic institution for safe-keeping in perpetuity. This archive has the potential to be a priceless teaching resource and a means by which the insights and genius of the world’s great musicians can be preserved for posterity.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation based in the UK
