The Master Blasters were a professional wrestling tag team in World Championship Wrestling most famous for giving Kevin Nash his start in wrestling.
[edit] History
The Master Blasters were formed in August 1990 in WCW while it was still under the NWA banner with wrestlers Kevin Nash as Steel and Cory Pendarvis as Iron, who was later replaced with Al Green. The team was most likely named after the character in Mel Gibson's movie Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, with their appearance being modelled on the look of the character (although without the mask).
The tag team made their debut for World Championship Wrestling at Clash of the Champions XII on September 5, 1990 against Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner. They feuded with them until late October when Green left and was replaced by Blade. They feuded with Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers until the team was disbanded in March 1991. Blade disappeared, while Nash went on to wrestle under the names "Oz", "Vinnie Vegas" and "Diesel", the persona through which he would finally gain card-topping status.
