Massoud Khalili

Massoud Khalili, also Masood Khalili and Masud Khalili was an advisor[1], schoolmate and close associate of Ahmed Shah Massoud. He was also the Northern Alliance's ambassador to India[2][3][4], and subsequently Afghanistan's ambassador to India, 2001-2007.[5] On September 9, 2001 Khalili was badly injured by a bomb blast that killed Ahmad Shah Massoud.[2][3][4] The bomb was from Osama Bin Laden's forces.[6][3][4]

Khalili was the son of the famous Persian language poet, and Persian poet laureate, Ustad Khalilullah Khalili. He grew up in Kabul where his father taught at Kabul University.
