[edit] Biography

Capra was born in Cremona, Italy and developed an interest in food through helping out in his mother’s kitchen and his father’s garden. After attending culinary school and enlisting in the army, Capra moved to Canada, following a job offering from a distant cousin. This led him to the now defunct Archer's Restaurant in Toronto.

After seven years at Archer’s, he moved to Prego Della Piazza, owned by Michael Carlevale. Situated in the fashionable Yorkville area of Toronto, Prego became popular with A-list actors attending the Toronto International Film Festival.

After nearly a decade at Prego Della Piazza, Capra moved to Mistura where he became co-owner and executive chef alongside proprietor Paolo Paolini and opened a supper club directly above it, named Sopra.

As of July 2007, Capra is married with two children and lives in Mississauga, Ontario.

His first full cook book, One-Pot Italian, ISBN 9781741753332, is due to be published by Allen & Unwin in September, 2007.
