[edit] Route description
From its terminus at U.S. Route 20 in Fiskdale, a village in Sturbridge, Route 148 runs north through the following towns:
- Brookfield (very brief concurrency with Route 9)
- North Brookfield (partially combined with Route 67)
- New Braintree (for less than 0.5 mile)
- Oakham
Route 148 crosses Interstate 90 in Sturbridge but there is no interchange. Route 148 was extended after 1986 from the southern intersection with Route 67 in North Brookfield to Route 122 in Oakham.
