Mass Romantic is the critically acclaimed first album by the indie rock supergroup The New Pornographers. It was released in 2000 by Mint Records and re-released by Matador Records in 2003.
In 2001, Mass Romantic won a Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year.
"Letter from an Occupant" was featured in the 2001 film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and in commercials for VH1's Hogan Knows Best in 2005.
In December 2007, Blender listed Mass Romantic as the 24th best indie rock album of all time. It is the second-highest Canadian album on the list behind Arcade Fire's Funeral, which was selected as the 6th best.[1]
