Mason Cup

The Mason Cup is a trophy awarded to the winner of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament held each March at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

On October 3, 2000 a unanimous vote among CCHA head coaches and athletic directors renamed the CCHA championship trophy the Mason Cup in honor of Ron Mason. Mason was instrumental in the establishment and success of the conference while coaching three league programs over five decades.

The CCHA Championship trophy was first awarded under the name Mason Cup in 2001, but previous championships are retroactively renamed.
