Mason Bernard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mason Bernard guitars are a stratocaster body guitar made by the same manufacturers as B.C. Rich guitars circa 1990 to 1992. They were produced under the control of Bernie Rico, but feature "M Bernard" branding on the headstock.

Mason Bernard guitars were made using the STIII body template, however they have thicker necks and a few other slight differences from a conventional STIII body. There is a recess behind the lower horn to make access to the upper frets easier. An angled neck plate is also a typical feature of a Mason Bernard. Mason Bernard guitars are usually bolt on, however there are example of thrunecks. It has been suggested that there were only about 100 guitars made, but there are examples of Mason Bernard guitars with serial numbers over 300

Most of the Mason Bernards have plain ebony finger boards, however there are some special player guitars that feature inlays. Many Mason Bernard guitars have custom graphics. They were made with both normal and reversed headstocks. There are examples of both non-recessed and recessed floyds.
