[edit] Summary

Skeletor sends two Orcs to get the Masks of Power from an ancient ruin for him. But the tiny creatures put on the masks, just to try them out and are transformed into huge mighty monsters. Possessed by the masks, they begin searching for the Sword of the Ancients, which they sense is deep beneath Snake Mountain. They imprison Skeletor within an energy cage. He-Man and Fisto follow the Orcs. They cannot free Skeletor, but he commands Mer-Man to show the Heroic Warriors the way through the maze beneath Snake Mountain. With his help, they manage to dive through an underwater passage. Finally they find the Sword buried in a quartz rock, the monsters were not able to remove it. But it is no problem for He-Man, he uses the Sword to destroy the masks and the creatures revert to their ordinary appearnaces. Skeletor offers He-Man to rule Eternia together, but He-Man declines. He drops the Sword in the Mystic Mountains and it is swallowed into the ground.

[edit] Notes

  • The Sword of the Ancients is identical to He-Man's sword. Likely, this was made so that children could play the story depicted in the comic using the same sword. He-Man's "real" sword appears only briefly, during the transformation scene, something that is common in the minicomics drawn by Alfredo Alcala.
  • Battle Cat appears in his powerful form even when He-Man is Prince Adam. Later minicomics show Battle Cat as Cringer when He-Man is Prince Adam.
