Masjid Al Abrar is also a Tamil Muslim mosque. It was originally a thatched hut put up in 1827. Between 1850–1855 a brick building was erected at the same site. It has two minarets and a dome.
As indicated in the sign located at the entrance of the mosque, it is also known as Kuchu Palli ("small temple") in Tamil. The sign also indicates that the mosque was gazetted as a monument on November 19, 1974.
