Mashhad International Airport or Shahid Hashemi Nejad Airport (IATA: MHD, ICAO: OIMM) is located in Mashhad, Khorasan, Iran.
It has frequent flights to several cities within Iran and also international flights mostly to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Afghanistan. The Airport is currently under an expansion project. By March 2008 it will have 20000 square meters of passenger terminal building, 18 or 19 aircraft parking positions, 2 or 3 more taxiways and 40000 square meters of car parking space added.

[edit] Accidents and incidents
- On September 1, 2006, an Iran Air Tours Tu-154 skidded off the runway as it was landing in Mashhad International Airport and caught fire. A tire had blown on the aircraft during landing. The aircraft was carrying 147 passengers, 29 of them died in the accident. The Tu-154 was flying from Bandar Abbas to Mashhad.
