Masafumi Gotō

Masafumi Gotō (後藤 正文, Gotō Masafumi^?) is the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter in the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. He was born on December 2nd, 1976. He met fellow band members Kensuke Kita and Takahiro Yamada in a musical circle of Kanto Gakuin University, they formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996 with Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after.

According to Flash-Back (an Asian Kung-Fu Generation fan site), he has a degree in economics and his favourite bands are Weezer, Number Girl, Teenage Fanclub and Eastern Youth.

Asian Kung Fu Generation has written many songs, including the hit song Rewrite, which was an opening song for the anime Fullmetal Alchemist. They have also written the song Haruka Kanata, the second opening theme for the anime and manga series Naruto, and After Dark, the seventh opening theme for the anime and manga series Bleach.
