[edit] Inclusionists vs. deletionists

Hello, Marvin!

Actually, I think that there's a rather large debate going on in Wikipedia between inclusionists and deletionists. In fact, I think there's a "Society of Wikipedian Inclusionists" and a "Society of Wikipedian Deletionists" or something like those in Meta-Wiki, and each of those pseudo-societies have members numbering into the hundreds (but really, these are pseudo societies and they don't do much; I just brought them up to illustrate how many people have opinions like ours).

This means that a lot of Wikipedians are aware, per se, of the deletionist epidemic. At this stage, our most important task is to drive consensus towards our side instead of the other. There are many policy/project pages on Wikipedia dedicated to this issue. I've been commenting on a lot of them, either in favour or opposition. It seems appears that this talk page has the most comments from both sides: it's a true debate and the one that's added to most often (albeit often in the wrong section because the page is so large and confusing). So, feel free to contribute your opinion there and counter some of the deletionists' arguments!

Thanks a lot for your input on this issue! We can achieve more when unified, yes? --Lapin rossignol 14:24, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Making a point

In case you weren't watching the AfD discussions.... I strongly advise you to stop inserting the same idea about "technology-based filtering" for advertisement in every AfD where you deem it appropriate. It serves no purpose. AfD is not the place for discussions of policy, and such out-of-place "proposals" may be seen as disrupting Wikipedia to make a point. If you want to change a policy, make your case in the talk page of that policy. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 14:09, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I read through the guidleine, and your uses of the terms "advertising" and "disrupting" seem entirely novel. Do you assert that my vote shouldn't count because I attached the same argument to my vote on different AfD pages? -- Marvin147 03:58, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
