[edit] June 10 Edit

I guess in removing the nonsense entry, "*1988 - Jordan Dominguez, bass player (Catch Your Breath)," I inadvertendly removed a notable entry as well. I spend a large amount of time on Wikipedia maintaining the quality of Wikicalendar pages, so it's to be expected that here and there I'll make an error. Sorry for the inconvenience. [edit] User page

Hello Martyn. I hear you've been speaking to Linda. I removed your email address from your home page. Wikipedia is mirrored all over the place, and your address may have reached places or spambots you wouldn't have imagined. I've replaced it with the equivalent (anonymous) Wiki facility (I hope). Cheers, Ian Cairns 18:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Although you may have been very frustrated with this anonymous user, it isn't considered appropriate to call anyone a moron on Wikipedia - see the no personal attacks policy. Next time, consider using a template message instead. Supadawg - Talk 18:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Furor vs. Furore

Regarding your edit to subliminal message, "furor" is the American spelling of the word. Just thought its's worth mentioning so you won't wonder if someone reverts it. -- DImfeld 01:22, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge Fiction

Hi, noticed that you created a new article for an Itchy and Scratchy episode, since the article is so light on information maybe we should merge and redirect that article with List of Itchy and Scratchy Cartoons. Since the I&S episodes are so short there might be a problem of having 30-40 perma-stubs if we make an article for every article, instead of having one list to cover all of them. Drop me a line. --Eivindt@c 23:15, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

OK! --Eivindt@c 23:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pipe

Hi. The | symbol is called a Vertical bar or pipe. There should be one on your keyboard somewhere. Mine is to the left of z, requiring the shift button. Otherwise there should be one in the 'insert character box' that appears when you edit a page. It's between the ~ and ° symbols. Hope that's help.

[edit] Wikiholic

Sorry, we've got a policy against articles on neologisms. The article's been deleted.

Thank you for trying, though; I know you meant well. DS 04:18, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Daisy, daisy ✿✿✿

Hi, I just noticed your addition to 2001: A Space Odyssey (film) about computers regurgitating data as they're being destroyed. I have to say this all sounds a bit far-fetched, but it would be a great story if it was true. Can you provide any references to back this story up?

Oh and by the way, good luck with Mastermind on Thursday. And happy birthday! -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 14:38, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Mediation Cabal case

Hi, there. Concerning your mediation cabal case, I just came to inform you that the title for the page was left blank, making some difficulties with the case title. I have renamed and moved your case to Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-07-08 Casablanca so it is properly formatted. Thanks. Cowman109Talk 22:10, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

There has been no response from any of the parties involved with this case for some time. Unless you or one of the other parties responds on the mediation page before July 20, I will close the mediation. Rick Norwood 12:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Today is July 20. Not having heard from any of the parties involved, I am closing the case. Rick Norwood 14:00, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: "Block"

Generally speaking, if you are able to edit anything other than your own talk page, your address is not blocked. Exceptions apply, though: I don't suppose you are using AOL? — Jul. 9, '06 [20:08] <freak|talk>

In the meantime you might try using an external web browser. Try making an anonymous edit using something other than the AOL browser and see if you aren't editing from a completely different IP range. — Jul. 9, '06 [20:22] <freak|talk>
Be forewarned about AOL#Account cancellation, allow yourself at least an hour. — Jul. 9, '06 [20:24] <freak|talk>

[edit] Aston Villa/Doug Ellis pages

I'll leave it with you, do what you will, but I would suggest that a proviso is added that Villa have denied the statement was made in the way it was reported - and the Birmingham Mail are now reported it was just the work of ONE disgruntled player Gretnagod 12:39, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Plot-driven and character-driven

Hi. I redirected both of these stubs into the article Plot. We don't normally create separate articles for adjectives. Deb 21:47, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing my edit of George Tootoosis. I appreciate the positive reinforcement.Konczewski 18:40, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Billy Bleech

I believe you are mistaken in thinking that the Billy Bleech sketches where he utters: someone's sitting there, mate are unconnected to Bleech. You are wrong, he wears the mop wig, the gag even began in Billy's local pub. i suggest you re-watch series 3 Foxearth

[edit] Removal of links

Please don't remove links from articles unless no article should ever be created with that title. Red links are extremely useful when writing new articles. Warofdreams talk 15:53, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Favorite Son

I'll give you the quickie rundown. if you are already familiar with the US election system, then this will be review. In short, candidates for the presidency run in primary elections and earn delegates that go to national conventions. Those delegates are traditionally pledged to a candidate. Of late, the convention is a bit of an anachronism since there is usually a candidate with more than enough delegates to win.
However, let's assume that there isn't a clear winner. A "favorite son" is a candidate who runs from his/her home state hoping to win a majority of that state's delegates. It allows that person to hold those delegates in order to influence the selection of the party's candidate. If you go into the convention and no one wins on the first ballot, candidates will start to drop out and their delegates can move towards other candidates. This is where the favorite some candidate can have influence. He can announce support for a particular person and ask his delegates to support that person. If that candidate ultimately wins, it can certainly benefit the person who pledged his delegates.
Again, since conventions are no longer brokered, this is a unlikely scenario going forward. But in the early part of US History, this was extremely common.Montco 03:01, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What's New Pussycat? (song)

A tag has been placed on What's New Pussycat? (song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page.
