[edit] EVHS Sources Needed

Hi,

Please do not remove the Citations Needed tag from the EVHS article until the article is well sourced. Greg Comlish (talk) 07:51, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Citation Tags

Hi,

More citations are still requested on the EVHS talk page. Please maintain the citation request so other wikipedians know citations are needed. Greg Comlish (talk) 04:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Do not continue to remove tags that request sources for the claims in the article. You are getting very close to vandalism at this point. ... discospinster talk 13:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Citation Request for Taos High School

Hi,

Which facts do you feel need citations in the THS article? It is customary to list the requested citations in the talk page so people can add them and then get rid of the "citations needed" tag. Greg Comlish (talk) 21:51, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

If an article's facts are in dispute, you should post the disputed facts on the talk page. This serves two purposes: (1) article editors know which citations have been requested. (2) uncited material may be removed from the article. Greg Comlish (talk) 13:24, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re

Hello, Martinez07.

My recent edit to your talk pages was regarding the removal of warning and block notices. Those are not to be deleted from talk pages unless they were bot-generated warnings made in error. Removing legitimate warnings can sometimes be seen as vandalism, or a deliberate attempt to hide previous unconstructive conduct or edits. Cheers, FusionMix 15:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:EVHS BASKETBALL TEAM 2008.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:EVHS BASKETBALL TEAM 2008.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. seicer | talk | contribs 01:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

A quick comment on some of the images you uploaded to Wikipedia. It is not permissible to upload photographs or images and claim that permission was released by another individual. You should check with Wikipedia:Media copyright questions on how to have the image released into GFDL or a GFDL-compatible license. See WP:ERP for further information. seicer | talk | contribs 01:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation in Image:EVHS.png

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:EVHS.png, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:EVHS.png is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:EVHS.png, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] "citation needed" tags

Regarding those [citation needed] tags: It's a bad idea to delete them without providing a citation. Some wikipedia admins are strict about the rules and (as you may have noticed) the EVHS article has already attracted the attention of several impatient administrators. A strict editor can remove all uncited material and ban anybody who tries to restore it without a citation. The [citation needed] tags do two things for you:

  1. They encourage editors to find a source and add a proper citation.
  2. They discourage people from simply deleting the uncited material outright.

I do think it's in your own interest to keep the tags up. I think you should restore them. Greg Comlish (talk) 02:14, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Mexico

Please do not change demographic information in articles without reliable sources. Eluchil404 (talk) 06:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:POJOAQUEgirlsbasketball08.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:POJOAQUEgirlsbasketball08.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 14:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:POJOAQUEbasketball2008.jpg

You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. MECUtalk 14:23, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki Tips

Hi,

I noticed you've been making things bold by using the <b> and </b> tags. These and other html tags work, but wikipedia prefers if you use its own formatting system.

In Wikipedia you can make things bold by placing three apostrophes around something: '''like this'''

You can also make italics by using two apostrophes: ''like this''

If you forget, there is a menu of commands about the edit box when you are editing. Greg Comlish (talk) 15:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Taos High School

I appreciate the contributions made to Taos High School.

I'm not the individual who referred to Taos as a "city", in fact I don't really care. That's why I removed that word, since some individuals have taken it upon themselves to take ownership of the word and make it an issue.

Let's work towards, providing the information that make this site useful and not worry about semantics.
