[edit] MacInnes Chief

Hi, I read Sir Donald was the current MacInnes Clan Chief on said Clan's official site somewhere. I'm still trying to find the exact URL again. If it's wrong or there's some other listing that ought to be used, then certainly roll it back. --BenM 10:35, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Ah, cool, I think I might've mis-interpreted the head of the Association as also being the Chief. Whoops. --BenM 10:56, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Great Work, Mark...

Great picture of Lyon Grant, Mark. Thanks for putting it on wikipedia. Dave Boven 21:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I think that a Scottish Heraldry page would be great. All I've got to go on is Innes of Learney's Scots Heraldry. For now, I'm just trying to focus on general heraldry pages. Now, if Clan Nesbit were to get a private herald, I might be able to add a page for that officer. Have a great day. dave Boven 08:52, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
I also just noticed that the current Chief of Clan Nesbitt has no wikipedia page of his own. A travesty... --Boven 20:14, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Mark...I've started a page on Scottish Heraldry. It is very poor at present, but it is something to work from. Mostly incoherent bits and pieces from my limited library. Any help is greatly appreciated. DaveBoven 15:46, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Armigerous families

You're quite right about Scottish clans and armigerous families. I hadn't checked my facts about Veitch and Jardine - just knew that they werre both closely associated with my own Porteous family in Tweeddale and Annandale (along with the Tweedies) and made an assumption. So thanks for pointing out the error. Regards Bruce, aka Agendum | Talk 23:00, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thank you for your comment at Talk:Timeline of evolution#Origin of seed reference?. It was extremely helpful; I'm going to add it to History of Earth right now. I appreciate it! — Knowledge Seeker 07:17, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Motts1935.jpg

Whoops - own picture; left off PD tag by mistake. Have added.Mark Nesbitt 09:56, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Heraldry Portal...

Hey. I've proposed the creation of an heraldic portal. If you think that such a thing would be helpful, you can voice your support HERE and hopefully we can get the heraldry category items organized better. Thanks for all your hard work on heraldic topics.--Eva db 08:51, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Emmer in .ch

Hi, yes, I'm pretty sure Emmer is being grown in .ch (I live here). It's not exactly the most common type of wheat, but it is definitely there, and at least one of the largest food store chains (Migros) is selling Emmer bread as part of its normal offerings.

[edit] Portal:Cannibas

Hi Marknesbitt. You commented on the proposal to create a Portal:Cannabis. That proposal was rejected. Subsequently, the portal has been nominated for deletion. See Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Cannabis. Thanks, --cj | talk 07:04, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Untagged image

An image you uploaded, Image:Chiefarms.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 07:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Einkorn wheat

I saw that you changed the reference of the material I added to this article. Could you also add the year the article was published in Science? Thanks. -- llywrch 23:44, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Whoops - will do!Mark Nesbitt 20:46, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kamut.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kamut.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:33, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
