Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Lupino Family, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. Hi, your notes on George Hook Lupino are welcome if they can be referenced back to published material. I know you've included criticism of the published texts on the subject - and they may well be wrong - but on wikipedia, they are what we have to work with. Most of the info, about the Lupinos, on the Britannia Theatre article are drawn from the Crauxford's book.

I would note that the change of spelling comes with its adoption by Thomas Frederick Lupino (1749-1845) - a scenery worker at Covent Garden. So, not George then ...

Please note that wikipedia is not a genealogy forum - and surnames are not capitalised. The talk pages are used for discussion, but it must relate directly to the article. Kbthompson (talk) 16:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank for you welcome. I am struggling to find the time to learn all about the Wiki site and understand all the protocols.

As my main interest is in Lupino genealogy I doubt if I will contribute very often.

My comments about the Hooks appropriating the Lupino family name are referenced at the Wiki page 'Lupino Family' and are from "Pantomime : a story in pictures" by Raymond Mander, Joe Mitchenson 1973. This is not my original research.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Markheal (talkcontribs)

I found the family in Leeds in 1881, all are named "xxxxxx L. Hook"; so there may be something in it. Most of the publications I've seen on the Lupinos are published subsequent to that, and I'm surprised that they don't mention it.
It would probably best to change the text in the articles to reflect some doubt - but where I've seen such things before it normally is an adoption of the wife's maiden name - not true in this case, or of the mother's. Who did George work with? Was he informally adopted into the family - one of Marie Lloyd's 'sisters' was in this position, for instance. Kbthompson (talk) 09:34, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
