Hi, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind lending your opinion to a content dispute that I am currently involved in on University of South Carolina. As you know, USC has a strong rivalry with Clemson University. I feel that the athletics section of the article should discuss this rivalry, and I feel that this discussion should include a reference to the overall record between the two schools in various major sports. Other editors have disagreed, and feel that the record should not be mentioned. As it happens, Clemson leads in two of the discussed sports and USC leads in the third. Ah, I'm currently on recent changes patrol, which means I'm on the lookout for vandalism and the like (your edit wasn't vandalism though!). I use a nifty tool called Lupin's anti-vandal tool to spot questionable changes such as this one. The tool often spits out false positives though, so sometimes I take a look at edits which may need improvement instead. To be frank, I think the article would be better off not listing every single aircraft that's on display, but instead focus on the museum itself (its history, what aspects of it make it unique, etc.). Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Hi, Mark. In response to your question about uploading an image, the easiest way is to follow the steps in the Wikipedia "Upload file" menu item in the toolbox located on the left menu bar (under the search window). After you have selected an image, one of the first "prompts" is to identify the source in relation to the Summary (author, source, URL, fair use rationale if applicable, extra {{tags}}, etc.). Most often images need to have a tag and in the case of a B-17 image, it is most likely to receive a

Unfortunately, I don't know about availability of roundels. Most articles just use national flags (see UH-60 Black Hawk for example}. You might want to drop the question on the Aircraft Project talk page, though. Unrelated to that...is your father in the Southern California area? I was introduced to an elderly Sublette (can't remember first name or rank) by some friends at the Mojave Airport a few years back, during a Veteran's Day celebration. Sublette, thanks and Howdy. Yeah, I'm a band nerd/geek/BQ. Great overall job on the documentation. I used to be in Special Operations and I was the Wing Liaison for 13 Accident/Safety Investigation Boards for Special Ops aircraft, so if you want to know the details of any of those accidents (especially the MC-130 crashes in 2003 and beyond). I also still have a few contacts there and/or can get you some basic info. I think it is important to note that Spirit 03 was the last gunship to be brought down and that it has not been involved in a Class A mishap since that date. Should we include that? I noticed your note about SAT being a CIA operation...I've heard that too, but I was wondering if they still are? They've got 3 747s sitting in storage here at Mojave, supposedly being used as a parts source for their flying aircraft. Also, FWIW, what do you know about Tepper being CIA, since they fly C-130s? As a follow-up to our earlier conversation, on Friday I got a nice tour of a Tepper L-382 (67X). In the pics I'd posted to the article, it's shown all white, but now it has the Tepper blue stripes as well. It's the most immaculate 130 I've ever been aboard, and the five-panel glass cockpit is stunning. [edit] Covert use of Forest Service C-130s?

Hi Mark, while working on an article on the 2002 air tanker crashes (draft is here), I've come across a couple of references to a scandal back in the 1990s about C-130As that were obtained by the U.S. Forest Service from the Air Force, and then used for covert missions while on the books as air tankers. This is one reference (go to the bottom of the rather lengthy page) and this is another. Do you have any information on this? If it was a legit scandal, rather than just another conspiracy theory, it might make for an interesting article in its own right. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 23:33, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the link! I find it curious that that link, as well as the NTSB summary, are still only preliminary and have no probable cause information, 7 years after the incident. I am, of course, wanting to find out if this was a wing structure incident like the three U.S. crashes, or was caused by something unrelated. Oh well. Thanks much! Mark, I'm finally done with the U.S. Forest Service airtanker scandal article...this is the event that I asked you for sources regarding covert use. Turns out that, although there were allegations of covert use, there was never any corroborating evidence, only testimony from one whistleblower. The edit history has to follow the text of the page for legal reasons of copyright. When a cut and paste move is done the edit history is not moved. Use the "move" tag at the top of the screen and the text and the edit history are moved together. If the target page is not available then it cat be deleted, if the move is appropriate. Probably the easiest way to repair your cut-and-paste move is to delete the Edward T page and do the move again using the move tag, an administrator need to help here. Yes I googled him. In a lot of cases in the late 40's, the Air Force renamed bases in honor of local airmen, rather than Geograpically. Norton was one of those bases i wish I had been assigned to.. never was able however. Thank you and take care.. Bwmoll3 (talk) 12:33, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
