ambrosian

thanks for your corrections in religion paragrah about Milan. Therefore the use of ambrosian in milanese church is not faclutative, but in these church neither was in use the gregorian one, nor is used today. The ambrosian is just the officially chant. I added the (requested?) links to PIEM and (If is useful) an external link to ambrosian

IMO should be interesting also tell the archibishop of Milan is a capo rito, I mean, it can change or the liturgy, unique case in western catholic church

(and may be in eastern - I asked about but I have obtained some dubitative response, in a near future I can tell some other about this specific case of oriental rite).

I should be grateful if you will have the patience to revise again the grammar ;-) Thanks in advance L--Lorenzo Fratti 00:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Yay

I hereby award you a Barnstar for being as diligent as myself in reverting the vandalism of articles such as those of Italy! Congratulations. Maybe I could use one myself? :). Sicilianmandolin 01:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much!

I am delighted! I was recently alarmed to see that there is/was no article on Italian Renaissance painting, so that is my current project. Hope you realy enjoy your wiki editting!

Architecture

I like your rewrite of that paragraph on the industrial revolution. --Amandajm 03:20, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Architecture

I think it's fine. Now, what about the challenge over there at Architectural History. Do you feel up to it?? The page is dominated by the Taj Mahal. (Why do people do that?) Anyway, someone needs to fix it, and it might be you! I have my little painting project underway at Italian Renaissance painting and Italian Renaissance painting, development of themes and after that, if I can muster the reserve, I'm going to get stuck into various aspects of Gothic. And maybe tidy up a few painters' biographies. Good luck! --Amandajm 08:01, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

OK, let's just put it on the "to be done" list for a bit. --Amandajm 02:09, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Italian Mexicans

How about you add that the number you put, 30,000 is the estimated number of Italians there were in Mexico when they first immigrated? Because if you put that that's the estimated number, it may mislead people into thinking that's the actual number of Italians in Mexico. And as it ismentioned in teh article, the actual amount is unknown because the cencus doesnt collect that data. -- Lancini87 02:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

You do have a point with the "Each of the original eight Italian communities was inhabited by around 400 individuals. If the expansion of Chipilo, Puebla, is representative of the Italian Mexican population as a whole, we might infer that in the late twentieth century there are as many as 30,000 people of Italian descent in Mexico", but that clearly states that the 30,000 would be the estimate of the total population (in the late 20th century) of the original eight. It doesn't mention anything about the later immigrantions of Italians, not exclusively to the original eight communities. And yes, i am an Italian Mexican myself. -- Lancini87 19:33, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Voting

Ok so that evolved into a vote. Feel free to vote here. Because not much people take part in the discusion every voice is importent. M.V.E.i. 21:32, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Your vote was counted :-)

Since you suggested Oriana Fallaci in the first place, and she is a potential candidate to win, i decided to accept Maria Montessori as a third candidate, so your voice was counted. M.V.E.i. 22:06, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

You are right, but...

Pop stars make the image look cheap (and usually they create license problems). The image even more then recognizable should represent all places which the nation is known for. For example, in Russian people we have many writers and those who made the space flight, why? Those are the things they are notable lead in. Italians are the inventors of Opera, they invented classical guitar, piano, chello, violin and controbass. So it hurts the representative thing not to include musician from that era. I to havent known Strozzi before (i would offer Vivaldi or Bon Jovi, but as you can see the whole talk started from the fact that many didnt like the lack of women), but i saw that she is a singer and composer, and from that era. P.S. We write the names under the image so if someone not knows someone he could read about him. We have a really not simple thing here. We need two women, and one of them needs to be rlated to music (to cover the fact music wasn't represented). On the other one we have 3 candidates, and thats alot for one place. 4 candidates will make a whole mess. I personaly would enter Marco Polo and Vivaldi, but again, it all started from the fact that they wanted women. M.V.E.i. 23:28, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you :-)

To work on the Italian people article is always easy, it's editors always can have an intellegent discussion and bring-out good ideas. M.V.E.i. 19:47, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

P.S. When i thought of it, bout of the best ideas were yours, since both of the women were those suggested by you. Good work! On the image page i noted your name in the "Author" line. M.V.E.i. 19:54, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Calabria

I noticed you reverted a couple of names i added. Good work and I bow to your knowledge as I did not do enough research. I ended up at the page as I am writing an article on the Calabrian Mafia and was checking bios of famous Calbrians. I got the two names from websites and as one was a Calabrian tourism site that listed famous Calabrians I expected it to be accurate. Cheers. Wayne 05:26, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Ringraziamento (Thanks)

La ringrazio per il suo contributo al mantenimento della voce "Dalmatian Italians". In caso se ne volesse servire, ho creato la voce "Dalmatos Italianos" nella Wiki spagnola, sul modello della voce italiana "Dalmati Italiani". Cordialmente/ Thank you for your help in maintaining the article "Dalmatian Italians". If you want to write on it, you can get something from the article "Dalmatos Italianos" in the spanish Wiki (that I have created from the "Dalmati Italiani" of the Italian wikipedia). Regards. --Brunodam 15:12, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Confuso

Cherso (I have reinserted the Dalmatian Italians list. Many are famous, but even the less known have their importance in the Adriatic area. The Croats want to make disappear everything Italian in the Dalmatian coast, even the cementeries...Do you see how easily they lie on everything, even on my identification with G. Giove? They have my IP totally different from the one of Giove and even after a wiki check up they keep calling Giove with my name!) --Cherso (talk) 04:58, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
