[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:NightlongUNIONCITY.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:NightlongUNIONCITY.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Primordial Lovers.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Primordial Lovers.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Primordial Lovers.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Primordial Lovers.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 23:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Ayn Rand1.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Ayn Rand1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dantadd 15:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:SsRepublic.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SsRepublic.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] SS Republic (1853)

Please stop modifying the coding of the standard infobox for ships. This infobox was generated as part of the ship wikiproject, and as a standardized template it needs to remain as it is. Thanks. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 15:37, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP Ships guidelines

Hi, just a few quick points. Please don't use a ship infobox on a class page, as you did at Capitan O'Brien class submarine and Cyclone class patrol ship. The ship infoboxes are for specific ships, we have Template:Infobox Ship Class for articles that discuss the class. Also, perhaps you could have a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ships)? I've undone your move of French ship Le Généreux, it was right the first time. Also Albatross (1920 schooner) is preferred over Albatross (ship, 1920). And when using images, we like them to be reasonably small and discrete. 300px is usually plenty for the infobox image, 400px is rather too much, as it stretches the infobox and squashes the accompnaying text. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Benea 15:16, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Book of Tiana Cover.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Book of Tiana Cover.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:32, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Capitanthompson.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Capitanthompson.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 19:33, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Book of Atrus Cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Book of Atrus Cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:

  • Image:Book of Dni Cover.jpeg
