[edit] (Self) Censorship?
Consider the official policy:
- Wikipedia may contain objectionable content
- Wikipedia is not censored (for the protection of minors)
- The key policies
- Avoid bias.
- Don't infringe copyrights.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. (emphasis mine)
- Respect other contributors.
[edit] My commentary
Wikipedia strives for correct information. This is why I am participating in this project. If an image (without copyright issues) portrays information correctly and applies to an article, then it should be displayed inline, without obstructions. A better image may replace a former image; a different image may be added to an article. DO NOT STIFLE CORRECT INFORMATION
[edit] End-user image suppression
Instead of end-user^Wserver-side image suppression, I suggest real end-user image suppression.
