[edit] Early Years

Marissa was born to Vivian Ferrante (a teacher) and Leslie Ealey (a bus driver). Marissa is of Irish, Italian, Icelandic and British descent. Her parents divorced at the age of three. She has an older sister named Elvira Bianco and a younger brother name Marcello Francato-Ferrante. Elvira is an cosmetologist. Marissa has said that she had never had a good relationship with her mother. "There was constant fighting in our household. I never actually got to be myself around my mother. And when I was she looked at me like I was on drugs or something...which I wasn't," She laughs. "My mother just always brought me down. Like when ever I felt just like a tiny bit good about myself my mother would just bring it back down again. I will always resent her for doing that to my self-esteem, we still don't get along to this day." Her mother was always struggling to make her lose weight. "My mom would always tell me, 'You will never get a boyfriend with the way you look!' and I would always say I didn't want one and she would just come back with, 'Oh, I see the way you look at those boys in that band that you like so much. Boys Fall Out, is it? Well, whatever. If you lost 20 pounds you would be gorgeous and you could get every boy in that band.' That woman really was nuts..."
