Graduated ("Laurea") in History at the University of Bologna in 1986. Doctorate in Philology at the Istituto Univ. Orientale of Naples (1992). Post-doctoral studies in Ancient Oriental History (Istituto Univ. Orientale of Naples). Also studied in Jerusalem (Hebrew University) and at the Univ. of Helsinki.
