Some Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Shipwrecks and the organization of information and articles on this topic. This project is designed to cover shipwrecks that are:
- historically notable - for being a rare example of an antique vessel;
- newsworthy - for the event that caused the wreck, or as a recent discovery; or
- of ongoing interest - as a popular dive site or other attraction.
