Talk:Mary Shelley/Comments

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a great beginning to the Mary Shelley page, but I think that it could be improved in several ways.

  • It needs to have inline citations.
  • I found the "Trivia" and "Film" sections a distraction. The Frankenstein page seems a more logical page for the "Film" section to me.
  • Many of the good biographies on writers have a separate section analyzing their writings--themes, reception history and criticism. Some of that would be beneficial to this page, I think.
  • The list of works could be cleaned up - it looks a little messy and is difficult to read.
  • I noticed on the talk page that there were some complaints about the essay-style of the article. Since there is so much poor writing on wikipedia, I was less concerned about that than I was about the above comments. The essay style has advantages over the very dry style wikipedia promotes, for example, a reader may actually finish the article!
