[edit] Date of Patent
I have found conflicting statements for the date of Ms. Anderson's patent. Both obituaries (here and here) indicate the patent was from 1903, the first indicates it was a 17 year patent and the second that it ended in 1920, while the About.com story here states in the opening that the patent was in 1905 but in the text it states 1903. I have gone with 1903 for the time being as I am unsure of the RS status of about.com whereas a newspaper should be more reliable and there's two entries. If someone can find a better source for the date please add it. Stardust8212 23:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mary Anderson
My name is Mary Anderson.
I was born in Greene County, Alabama, United States in 1966.
I lived with my mother and my sister, my father had passed away.
I moved to California, where I operated a casttle ranhe and a vineyard.
I returned home to my mom and sister and my aunt moved in with us with 17 heavy trunks that she kept in her room.
My aunt got very sick and I took care of her.
When she died I found her trunks with gold and jewelry.
I took that money and I went to New York City.
One day I notice a man trying to get sleet off his windshield. He kept putting the glass down so he could see where he was going.
I went back home and made a drawing of something that would keep the windshield clean and gave it to a company.
I invented the windshield wiper in November 1903.
I died at the age of 87.
I was lthe oldest member of my church. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.34.201.185 (talk) 03:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
