[edit] Timing

The article says when he was appointed, but doesn't say who appointed him. That would be useful. --MiguelMunoz (talk) 23:32, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

It was either Gov Deukmejian or Gov Wilson. Problem is that Duke was still governor during the first week of January 1991, and Baxter was appointed in January 1991. It's most likely that Duke put him on the Supreme Court on his way out the door (with Wilson's concurrence), but I can't say for sure. Would need to know the exact day he was appointed, but the CSC website doesn't say.Smashingworth (talk) 00:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
