With all due respect to Wryspy and Murgh, how does this article read like an ad or a news release? It is on a new event, so I admit that it may sound "newsy", what, exactly, is it about the article that is inappropriate? I mentioned downsides of the service as well as the positives. Everything mentioned is heavily referenced. It is not POV. Unless someone points to something specific that is horribly wrong with the article, I'm going to remove the tag within the next few days. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 13:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

By that template I didn't mean to infer POV, just a tone of "herenow-this just in!". The joshschr changes made a big difference for me. I forget which MoS guideline to cite, but the article advice of projecting a reading experience 10 years into the future seems relevant, to boil down to the most substancial material. As such I don't think it's Wikipedia's task to reiterate Marvel's various current price tags either, just an EL away, and those ought to be removed as well. Done. I think this needs to be merged into the Marvel Comics article, unless there's a reasonable way to thoroughly flesh this out. I don't know if the pricing plan or mention of DC's foray into digital comics distribution are appropriate here either, but I'm willing to discuss it. joshschr (talk) 22:19, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for the clarification and editing. I edited it even further to make it less "newsy" and ad-like. I removed the prices since that's not our job to disclose them (and they may change). Unless they've changed things since last week, you can read an entire issue without paying. You do have to sign in with a free Marvel.com login. I'm going to try it again to make sure. If it works, I'll add your original verbiage back in on that issue.

I also think that we need to consider folding this into the Marvel Comics page as a new business venture. There's not much here and I don't see there being much to add in the future. joshschr (talk) 12:42, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Hm. I can't read an entire comic for free, even the ones advertised as free. I can only get to the first few pages. I can't find any way to get a free Marvel.com login. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 16:57, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

It might have been a programing glitch. When the "you must sign up" box came up, I closed it and it let me read the rest. I can't do it with Ultimate Hulk v Wolverine, but I can still read the entire Avengers #500. Not worth mentioning in the article.

To get a free Marvel login, you just go to the marvel.com and look for the register link. Standard info from there. joshschr (talk) 20:02, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
