The novel's opening scene is a description of our Santa Clara, California farm that London visited in 1901. The description of my grandfathers papers left at Yale written by Reference Librarians at Yale University are a reputable source. The business relationship between the brothers and their father Judge Hiram Bond is misdescribed hence confusion over ownership of the sledgedog. Marshall was Executive and Louis was there representing their father as Comptroller. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.240.206.205 (talk) 00:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
