Talk:Marmaduke Pickthall

Actually I quite liked the previous version. Maybe it should be immortalized in the jokes page. DJ Clayworth 16:30, 29 Aug 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Points for revision
- Pickthall travelled across the plains and coastyards of many Eastern countries, forming a great reputation as one of the foremost Middle-Eastern scholars of his time. A strong and steadfast advocate of the Ottoman Empire,
A few points could/should be revised.
- "coastyards"??
- Easter countries--which precisely? Is "Eastern" NPOV?
- advocate of the Ottoman Empire--are people typically described as being advocates of an empire/state or as an "advocate for Western support of the Ottoman Empire" (or something to that effect)?

[edit] Weak entry
I don't mean any offense, but this seems more like a glory story than a real encyclopedia entry. Also, why are there no details about his translation of the Quran? What year was it accomplished? Thanks for your work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.175.109.203 (talk) 12:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
