"Inexplicably" topped the charts? I know nothing about the man, but that seems POV.

Maybe because the single didn't do as well as some of Mark's other singles. I don't think it even made the Top 20.

First RfC response: I didn't see any discussion on this matter, so I looked into the edit summaries, and saw Mark Wills's full name removed by Swelchmgt because "Mark has requested that his real birth name not be viewable by the public for privacy and security reasons." If that's the case, it should be easy to reference that this, is in, fact his desire (which I am not even sure we would follow even then since his full name is commonly known). Otherwise, the information should be included. Removing verifiable, neutral and notable information without verification or consensus is bad practice.--Esprit15d • talk • contribs 16:26, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. If the name is publically documented, there's little point in avoiding it here. If Mr. Wills wants information about himself kept off Wikipedia, it's better for him to file an OTRS ticket. - I agree with both above. His full name appears to have been widely reported outside of Wikipedia, so I can't see any problem with keeping it in. Nothing in the WP:BLP policy suggests otherwise. --BelovedFreak 16:46, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

- I can't find a reference to Mark's real name on the referenced source (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:3nfixqqgldae~T1). Has it changed? I agree that his name should be in the article if a source for it exists, but it looks like that no longer applies. —BradV 16:33, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

It was in the sidebar on the AMG page; apparently it's been removed. I guess that takes care of that. - I agree that we can close it, but not with your reasoning. The question was whether the fact that the subject wants his name removed means that it needs to be removed from the article. And the consensus here is that it does not. I've removed the tag. —BradV 23:50, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
