[edit] Comment

There are a few long sentences many of which can be trimmed at the commas. The lead contains a very long sentence ("He was primarily a right-handed batsman... ") with five commas and three 'and's. Tintin (talk) 08:06, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Key achievements POV

In this section, I flagged some comments that I regarded as POV on 23/10, looking for citations. I still believe they are POV and because they come so high up in the article, they're particularly weighty, IMHO. Before I wade in with size 9s, I welcome comment (and/or edits). --Dweller 08:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Sure - I shoul probably go and find a Wisden comment about his playing style and catching, ut I also have his bio, which has quotes by Mark Taylor and Allan Border, etc. Of course, Wisden would be better. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:30, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Finding quotes supporting the contention that Mark Waugh is great slip fielder is as easy as finding those saying that Don Bradman is a great batsman :) The first page of the google search for Waugh and "greatest slip fielder" gets these endorsements from Gooch (" undoubtedly the greatest natural catcher that I've ever seen "), Steve Waugh (""Mark's probably the best slip catcher in the world, probably for the past 10-20 years"), Greg Matthews ("Mark Waugh is the best slip fielder in the world. "). I don't have any Wisdens or MW biographies to check - they should have better ones. Tintin (talk) 03:33, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Cricinfo profile at http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/8189.html : "Critics took issue with Waugh's apparent loss of concentration at times and his capacity to occasionally succumb to lazy-looking shots. " Tintin (talk) 03:37, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Superb! Anyone got anything for his mastery of spin bowling? --Dweller 08:20, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Actually, that part should proabbly be removed - his average against India is 33 and Sri Lanka is about 20 something. I guess this is attributed to his general attitude of attacking spinners and hitting sixes more than anything else - in his era, he was considered as an ultra-agreesive batter. [edit] career section too long

The career information is way too long. Perhaps separate it into time periods?
