I think what we have here is a case of Mark Salter and McCain staffers editing this page to their own liking. but after kissing up to the waffling senator for more than 15 years, can you blame Salter??? I mean here is a guy whose entire professional life has been devoted to his idol, who turns out to be nothing more than a panderer.

--- Try to leave comments on the talk page in a somewhat organized manner please (start a new line for a new comment). And that type of pov language is what we try to avoid, especially in articles dealing with current events in politics. --sodium

[edit] Clean up time

I disagree, it isn't the correct place to state that Mr. Salter

"wrote the following scathing account of a young lady who was a commencement speaker that dared to take issue with his boss, John McCain, basically telling her she was a coward and her life would amount to nothing, and calls her no less than an idiot:"

I also threw in correct references, tags, tried to give equal time to both positions. Moved this very pov line here:

Later in life, McCain would quip, "Do not call me a 'war hero'...I am anything but! The fact that I was incompetent enough to get shot down twice in war should dissuade you from that fact."

It could perhaps be worked in a different way. Honestly I think the links themselves are sufficent and the actual responses themselves don't necessarily need to be posted on the Mark Salter article itself.

I do think your summation is fairly neutral, and I like the idea of the links to the comments. Let's see if this gets changed again in the next few days. (And I like the separate section)

Yes, you did a good job on this sodium_N4. :) If everything settles down re edits in a few days, I'll remove the dispute tag (which I didn't put there) unless any editors disagree. The page seems pretty neutral right now. Lucky Adrastus 05:06, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

---Still looking good. Page is stabilzing. As one of the people who probably made it too one-sided initially, I think it it is pretty neutral now.

5/31/06 Lucky Adrastus: I think you should go ahead and take off the dispute tag: no one has changed this page for a while now.

OK. Lucky Adrastus 17:30, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
