[edit] Liberal?
The Ultimates has a "liberal-based plot"? Where did that come from? The demiurge 02:50, July 13, 2005 (UTC)
- I believe the comment was suppose to cover Millar's overall writing style. and in effect bring the thought of his background dealing with solicalist - his father - as an influence for his writing, although in Superman: Red Son he seem to illustrait a sort of anti-socialist view on that Elseworld title. However his portrayal of Captain America is not a rabbid Right Winger he is probably the closest to one as Millar could stand to get to. I mean anyone who try and censors naked pictures of Lindsey Lohan off the internet must rub Millar the wrong way (reference recent article from Wizard Magazine on Millar and Hitch).
[edit] Arranged Marriage
Please provide a link for the claim that Millar has had an arranged marriage. This seems utterly insane and I suspect that this is a joke. Also please provide a reference for the Ken Livingstone comment. Otherwise, I shall delete both of these at the end of this week. Thanks Vizjim 18:10, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Millar's arranged marriage is a matter of verifiable fact and is an interesting aspect to his life. It makes the reading of 'Chosen' much more enlightening.
- As Vizjim requested, please provide a link or a proper citation for that claim. -- markus n 10:36, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- Look, the sum totality of human knowledge is not contained on the internet. I know this fact to be true. Not every single word on Wiki can be backed up by another link. Now this will be the 'source' for other people wanting to prove this fact. It is true. It is important. Millar often makes bold claims and issue out of his religion. This is an aspect of his religion. It is true - it remains.
At least tell us how you know it, maybe? And which religion are you thinking of? I understood (though I may be wrong) that he was brought up a Catholic - not a religion famed for its arranged marriages... Vizjim 18:56, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] George Galloway
There is nothing about Ken Livingstone in the bio. There is something about George Galloway though, which can be verified by reading either published issue of Unfunnies.
- Troy Hicks, the only human character in the Unfunnies doesn't bare much more than a superficial resemblance to George Galloway. I don't see this as any form of verification as Galloway isn't the only person in the world with a moustache. Stx 09:37, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
-
- IT is a photograph of George Galloway being used. A photograph. Come on!
There are 5 or 6 different photographs of a man not entirely dissimilar to George Galloway through the two published comics, but I disgree with your assertation that it is him. Also, it's not an uncommon look for males of that age and stature in the west of Scotland. Stx 10:40, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think you understand. They are photographs of Galloway. If you use Google Search, they are the photographs you find. It is categorically Galloway.
-
- The final page of Unfunnies #2 depicts the Troy character holding a shotgun, but I cannot find a corresponding image of Galloway using Google image search. For such a noted antiwar campaigner, I'm surprised no-one has a reference to the image in question if it is indeed him. Stx 15:33, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Informercial
Please keep the marketing maelstorm out of encyclopaedic material...
Some of the article parts read like a used car sales man, particularly the ones that keep repeating is an awesome, amazing, lauded, spectacular, most popular, everything of comics or the internet.
He's not particularly Jack Kirby ya know...
Millar is all about the self promotion. But zero chance of getting that onto this page. Even with citations his fanboy army kept deleting. sigh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.68.249.128 (talk) 21:30, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Video Games are for Pedophiles?

Do you think this is worth mentioning? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mavrickindigo (talk • contribs) 19:53, 2 March 2007 (UTC).
- I'm certainly willing to rip him a new one over that. I found it very offensive, being a gamer.--71.156.60.219 07:07, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's definitely worth mentioning, especially considering this link where he says a lot more on the subject just underneath the picture of his game systems. (I'd edit it myself but I'm still trying to lurk and learn). DocRiff 11:24, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding Negative Statements
Please remember that if you are saying something negative about someone you're going to need a cite for it, as per WP:BLP. "The other links support it" doesn't cut it. And yes, critical comments *are* held to a huigher standard than onesin praise, again see WP:BLP. Also even if you have a cite theres a possibility that your comment might be deleted anyway, due to issues of tone and weighting. Again reading WP:BLP will help you make best judgement on that.
Thank you

To what level is Millar involved with the Youngblood Bloodsport Comics? It's content is very trash but it has Millar's name on it? Did he write it? Plot it? Or just gave pointers to Liefeld to make the comic?
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ultimates1.jpg
Image:Ultimates1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
