Talk:Mark Lindquist

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though I enjoy this author's work immensely and have been reading him from the beginning, I think it would useful to accept less critically the idea that he writes "postmodern literature". The idea that such is comprised of observant writing and pop culture is dubious. Pynchon may or may not be postmodern, but Lindquist surely isn't. I'm not even sure that postmodern is really a useful category. Everything tagged as postmodern (be it literature or philosophy or design) seems to me to be simply an extension of modernism or even romanticism.
