Mark (full name; Mark Allan Hoppus not Markus) was born in March 15, 1972 in California. He attended Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, California. Mark's father's name is Tex, his mother's name's Carrie, and his younger sister's Anne (Anne Hoppus is currently dating Damon from Fenix TX. This info might be outdated at the time of speaking).

He is the bassist and vocalist of the group, and also the one appearing on-stage nude, at MTV's Castaway Countdown, during the band's performance of "What's my age again? ", and as if that wasn’t enough, he appeared on-stage nude, again, at KROQ's 1999 Weenie Roast. But these are not the only things he does on stage: at a show in Boston, he took an inflatable sheep, shoved a drum stick up it's ass, and tossed it into the crowd, but that's usual when being a Blink-182 member. He also hates playing any tours in Europe (or so he says). Despite all of that, Mark is an incredible song-writer: he wrote "Dammit" in just 5 minutes, about a break-up that never actually happened, "Going away to college" on Valentine's Day after watching "Can't hardly wait", and "Adam’s song" was inspired from a mail he received from a boy that commited suicide…

He has two tatoos: One on each wrist. The left hand one has "Skye" (his wife) written on it and "Jack" (his son) on the right one. He has an ear-ring on his left eye and a piercing in his nipple…His wife's name is Skye Everly (you can hear him say her name in "What’s my age again" in the "Mark ,Tom and Travis show"). Their son "Jack" was born on August 5th 2002. At every Blink show, Mark writes a diffrent message on his speaker with white duct tape. Anything goes from "Hi Mom!" to "I have no idea where I am". Once he even wrote a message to Skye after they had been fighting over who loved the other more which said "I love you More". Skye works at MTV doing various jobs…

Mark's hero of all time is none other than Homer J. Simpson. His favourite bands are "Jimmy Eat World", "Riverfenix" and the "Get Up Kids". His favourite movie is "Caddyshack", but he also thinks that Walt Disney’s movies are great. His nickname in the band is "Fish Guts". According to a statement during a 1997 'Loveline' episode, he claims to have above-average sized male genitalia. He actually resides in Carmel Mountain Ranch, California.

After the Blink-182 break-up, Mark and fellow Blink alumn Travis Barker have formed +44, an pop/alternative rock band. Mark is also the Spokesman for a Cable Television channel called Fuse, a channel for Rock music. (www.fuse.tv) As the spokesman, he does weekly podcasts and can be found on the website, www.himynameismark.com bahahha markkkkkkk yay

[edit] Environmental Issues

Mark Hoppus is very well known for his devotion to the saving of the rainforest and his involvement in the global warming movement. He is known for founding the M.S.E. (Musicians Saving the Environment), an organization of musicians dedicated to saving the environment. So far he has made over 20 trips to Brazil in attempt to stop local farmers from cutting down tress in the Brazillian rainforests since the organization was first founded in 2004. This information was obtained from various posts from his official blog site.

In the Discography table shouldn't the band column for the compilation Short Music For Short People be listed as Various Artists not as Blink 182? That would be more consistent with the other compilations listed. 82.10.101.241 17:39, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Errors

So basically mark just blasted wikipedia on his website.. hence it's called use sources. himynameismark.com shows the article and shows what is wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.236.115.94 (talk) 21:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Some quotes taken from [1];

"in any case, i checked it out today, and indeed the entry is wrong. not that it matters, but my name is mark allan hoppus...also, my sister’s name is anne mcmurray (not wright)...AND, as much as i wish i did, i do not own part of famous stars and straps."

These are the mistakes Mark himself pointed out on his website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.206.115.118 (talk) 22:27, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Also we SHOULD update the picture.. that picture of mark is 4 years old and is a bit out dated.. --99.236.115.94 (talk) 01:20, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
