Talk:Marie Taglioni
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not to be pedantic, but given that she was Italian, shouldn't her name be Maria? Her father was a Filippo, not a 'Philippe', after all... On a more serious note, I believe she is better known as 'Maria'. Gioland71 01:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Not to be pedantic? Look her up in the index of any general history of ballet. One might take a hint from Strauss, who wrote a Marie Taglioni Polka. --Wetman 10:26, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Marie Taglioni is correct -- she was born is Sweden to a Swedish mother -- and is the overwhelming choice if you compare "Marie Taglioni" - Maria with "Maria Taglioni" - Marie on Google. Robert Greer 22:47, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
