[edit] HRH

Is a Luxembourg grand duchess a HRH or is another style applicable? FearÉIREANN\(caint) 22:27, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

From what I know, Royal Highness is the applicable style. Prior to Grand Duchess Charlotte's marriage to Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma, the only persons to hold the HRH style were the Grand Duke and his heir. As Felix was a HRH his wife, children and descendants carry that style. Prsgoddess187 23:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Show some cop-on

Apparently there was a copyright violation with the original article. The removal of such text is necessary. But instead of removing the copyvio stuff some individual wiped the entire article meaning that we lost such information as the woman's date of birth, the categories the article was linked to, and even the template for the page, none of which remotely was copyvio. So I've had to use my admin powers to dig around in the deleted article to find what was the date of birth of the woman.

Next time they could across a copyvio could the person fixing it have their brain switched on at the time and leave things like dates of birth, categories and templates that patiently aren't copyvios on the page. Just take the copyvio out, or if you can't tell which bits are, reduce the article to a stub. But don't wipe the entire page, leaving broken links, redirects to nothing, and all the non-copyvio information lost. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 22:36, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] No Grand Duchess

The wife of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg does not hold the official title of Grand Duchess, the title of Grand Duchess is only given if a female is also the sovereign. See Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and her husband Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma, Prince Félix was not Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Interesting is also a graph published by Hello Magazine [[1]] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.92.64.103 (talk • contribs) 09:20, 22 December 2006

In royalty, for the most part, a woman takes the rank and title of her husband. Thus, the wives of princes are usually princesses, the wives of kings are usually queens and, of course, the wives of grand dukes are usually grand duchesses. Only in certain systems is the husband accorded a title to match that of a sovereign wife. Sorry, but you are just wrong. Charles 21:33, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I have searched the constituition to find any reference for the wive of the Grand Duke to take the rank and title of her husband, I also searched all the published laws for any reference of the title Grand Duchess for the wife of Grand Duke Henri. 17:59, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Irrelevant - it is a matter of customary practice, not constitutional law. john k 16:33, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grand Daughter of Dictator

In Luxembourg there are persistent rumours that Maria Teresa were the granddaughter of ex-dictator Fulgencio Batista.

Sometimes these rumours are denied, but I have never seen an official documented denial.

Can someone provide solid information on this?

[edit] Is she related to Cuban Dictator Fulgencio Batista?

I got the chills when I saw her mother's lastname. Is she related to Fulgencio Batista? Who was defeated by Castro? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.184.179 (talk) 18:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

No, she is not related to Fulgencio Batista.Callelinea (talk) 20:29, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
