[edit] Doubtfulness
Hello guys. To begin the discussion here, I am not really sure, but i think she has a EP called Unfold. Is that true? Darrencomp 16:27, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. Its called Start Here EP. Did some research on it. Darrencomp (talk) 01:59, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Astroturfing controversy
There's a name for the practice described in the Controversy section of feigning a grassroots campaign—it's called astroturfing. An anonymous editor removed some text I added to the article about this, I just added it back. I don't think this is a POV, it's an accepted name for the activity. —johndburger 02:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reasons to delete controversey section
1) Grassroots: Are you kidding me? Youtube is hardly grass roots anything. Its about the most mainstream popular thing there is today, everybody and there dog and Hillary clinton use it for promotion.
2) Why wouldn't youtube be considered a legitimate form of promotion, even if your a class A celeb?
3) I don't think any of her videos attempt to conceal her status as a "serious" musician, she has numerous songs/videos done in a professional way that is a cut above the typical "youtube idiot singing into their camera". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.51.143.60 (talk) 08:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- These points have only to do with whether there should have been any controversy in the first place. You're entitled to your opinion, but the fact is that there was controversy—and in the Wall Street Journal, no less. If some of the biggest coverage about Digby has to do with accusations of astroturfing, then it belongs in the article. —johndburger 03:56, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unencyclopedic
Much of this article is written in a "adoring fan" style, quite inappropriate for an encyclopedia. The "How to contact Marie" section is especially off-key, as are all the entreaties to listen to her on MySpace. It's not even in the right section sequence in the article. Please leave this deleted. —johndburger 02:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the article should in my opinion be reverted to the revision dated 12:15, 18 January 2008, to undo all the edits by 24.87.61.227, since none of those edits seemed to add anything of value. --Chekkie 23:28, 22 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chekkie (talk • contribs)
- Agreed and done. Aside from the MySpace speak, just too many ungrammaticalities and downright errors. —johndburger 02:12, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wow
A whole entry for someone who gets noticed for posting a cover on Youtube? The stuff she writes herself is totally average, even AngryAsianMan thinks so. Youtube should just have it's own Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.170.68.234 (talk) 08:59, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
